- About Rock Crusher Rd. Church
We’re not just a church; we’re family! You’ll fit right in no matter what your background!
In the Summer of 1983, the Lord brought together a group of about a dozen people desiring a Church of God(Anderson) congregation in West Citrus County. They began meeting in a home behind the fire station on North Rock Crusher Road in Crystal River.
After a few months, 2.5 acres was donated just south of the fire station on Rock Crusher Road to build a church. This group called a pastor to serve as their first Pastor and Church Planter and they began raising funds to build a Sanctuary and classrooms. Construction began in 1984. The first service in that building that currently serves as our Sanctuary was held later that year.
Over the years, the Lord has blessed us and has multiplied the family of faith that calls Rock Crusher Road Church of God their home, including our extended family in missions work around the world.
On October 20, 2013, we celebrated our 30th Anniversary with the theme: Always About Him. We were honored to have three of our pastors with us: Former Senior Pastors Dale Benefield and Dan Oakes and new Lead Pastor Michael Chambliss who moved to Citrus County in November, 2013.
Today, we continue on the path that the Lord set Rock Crusher Road Church on over 30 years ago. Our desire is to reach people for Christ so that lives are changed for eternity!
