What Does Rock Crusher Church Believe?
We are a Christ-centered church. Our beliefs are centered on Jesus Christ and His teachings. We believe that Christ is the head of the church and the Author and Finisher of our faith. We align ourselves with the Church of God with General Offices in Anderson, Indiana. One of our movement’s early church song says: “The Bible is our rule of faith and Christ alone is Lord.” We still hold to that belief and therefore hold ourselves to no written creed or doctrine other than the Bible itself.
We believe that salvation makes you a member of the Body of Christ and that the church is composed of every person that has accepted Jesus Christ as Savior. We enter into the life of the church, not by joining or being voted on, but by committing our life to Him. There are no formal steps that you must follow or paperwork involved. Therefore, we do not keep a “formal roll of membership” nor can you “join” our church. You are already a member if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior. Our Pastor teaches a class titled “Welcome to Rock Crusher Church” periodically and we invite you to attend to familiarize yourself with everything we have to offer and our core beliefs.
We celebrate communion together on designated Sunday morning services and special services throughout the year. We observe an “open communion” meaning that anyone can participate in this sacred time – as long as they’ve made the decision to follow Jesus Christ. The juice and bread that we share represent the life He gave up so that our sins could be forgiven. We observe Communion based on Christ’s command, “This, do in remembrance of Me.”
Christian baptism is a symbolic act that represents the new life one has found in following Jesus. It symbolizes the washing away of an old way of life. It symbolizes new birth into a life with Christ. It represents the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the new believer. Christian baptism is the outward sign of an inward change. If you would like to follow Christ’s example in baptism, you can discuss this with our Pastor or a member of our Church Leadership Team. You can also mark your interest on our Connection Card and our Church Office will follow up with you.
Rock Crusher Church is non-denominational, but we are affiliated with the Church of God in Anderson, Indiana. For more about our history and beliefs, we encourage you to register and attend the “Welcome to Rock Crusher Church” class that Pastor James teaches periodically.
